INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY: Authorities Probe Cause of Fire at Steven Furtick’s Church
Charlotte, NC – An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of a fire that broke out at Elevation Church, the megachurch founded by Pastor Steven Furtick. The fire, which occurred on Tuesday evening, damaged a significant portion of the church’s campus, leaving many in the community shaken.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire started in the church’s administrative building, which is located on the outskirts of the main campus. Flames were seen shooting out of the building’s windows, and thick smoke billowed into the air, causing nearby residents to evacuate their homes.
“I was driving by the church when I saw the flames,” said local resident, Jane Doe. “It was terrifying. I immediately called 911 and reported the fire.”
Firefighters from the Charlotte Fire Department responded quickly to the scene, and were able to contain the fire within a few hours. However, not before it had caused significant damage to the administrative building and several nearby structures.
“It’s a miracle that no one was injured,” said Pastor Steven Furtick in a statement. “We’re grateful for the quick response of the firefighters and the support of our community.”
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but authorities have launched an investigation to determine the origin of the blaze. The Charlotte Fire Department’s arson unit is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
“We’re taking this investigation very seriously,” said Captain John Smith of the Charlotte Fire Department. “We’ll be reviewing security footage, interviewing witnesses, and conducting forensic analysis to determine the cause of the fire.”
The investigation is expected to take several days, and authorities are urging anyone with information about the fire to come forward.
In the meantime, Elevation Church has announced that it will continue to hold services at its other locations, and that the church’s administrative offices will be temporarily relocated.
“We’re not going to let this setback hold us back,” said Pastor Furtick. “We’ll continue to serve our community and spread the message of hope and love.”
The fire at Elevation Church has sent shockwaves through the community, and many are rallying around the church to offer support.
“This is a difficult time for our community, but we’ll get through it together,” said Charlotte Mayor, Vi Lyles. “We’re committed to supporting Elevation Church and helping them rebuild.”
As the investigation into the cause of the fire continues, the community is coming together to support Elevation Church and its members.
“We’re grateful for the outpouring of support,” said Pastor Furtick. “We’ll continue to serve our community and spread the message of hope and love, no matter what challenges we face.”
