Coventry City man set for Europa Conference League debut after Sky Blues transfer.

The defender will spend a second year away from the CBS Arena having agreed a loan deal

Coventry City have sanctioned a loan move for Jack Burroughs for the second season running.

The 23-year-old, who has come through the Sky Blues youth set-up, has teamed up with Scottish Premiership outfit Kilmarnock for the whole 2024/25 campaign. He spent last term at Lincoln City for whom he made 35 appearances.

While the move is subject to clearance the versatile Burroughs, who has eight Scotland under-21 caps to his name, could go straight into the squad which faces FC Copenhagen in the Europa Conference League play-off on Thursday night. The Sky Blues confirmed the move in a club statement which said: “Everyone at Coventry City wishes Jack all the best during his loan spell with Kilmarnock.”

In total he has made 20 appearances for City, with his most prolific season coming in 2022/23 when he played in 12 Championship games. He is under contract until next summer. Burroughs has also had loan spells at Nuneaton Borough, Gloucester City, Ross County and Lincoln City.
Meanwhile, Mark Robins looks to have missed out on Danish midfielder Nicolas Madsen, who is set to make the switch from Belgian club Westerlo to Championship rivals Queen’s Park Rangers.
Reports from Belgium earlier this month suggested Robins and Co were interested in a 24-year-old who is well known to two current Sky Blues stars, having previously played on loan at Dutch side Heerenveen with Milan van Ewijk and prior to that was a team-mate of Victor Torp at Danish side Midtjylland.
