Though her rookie season ended early due to wrist surgery, she still made a huge impact. Reese dominated the boards, breaking the single-season rebound record with 446 and setting a new rookie record with 25 double-doubles. In the second episode of her new podcast, “Unapologetically Angel,” Reese sat down with Chicago rapper Polo G. They responded to fan questions, providing some influential answers. “What do you think the future of the rap/basketball industry looks like, and how do you see yourself fitting into it?” one fan asked. Reese explained how she wants to use her platform to help women’s sports grow as a whole.

“Just continue to grow women’s basketball, women’s sports in general,” Reese said. “That’s just always been my goal, obviously. That’s just my impact.

“I want to continue to normalize fashion in women’s basketball, women’s sports, women being outspoken, just being able to have a voice, being able to be outgoing and super outgoing and not just be, ‘okay, only men can do it,'” she added. “Women can do the same thing and have the same power and same impact.”

Just 22 years old, Reese’s future is as bright as it gets. Her rivalry with Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark will continue to be one for the ages. While she may not play anymore this season, fans can catch her teammates in action on Friday, September 12, against the Minnesota Lynx.
