Jaw-dropping : 6 NASCAR drivers announces sudden split-

You can probably count on one hand the number of times Michael Jordan appeared to be nervous during his Hall of Fame NBA career. And yet, there was no denying Jordan was sweating it out watching both his 23XI Racing drivers, Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace, during Sunday’s Southern 500 at Darlington.

Jordan was seen numerous times on the USA Network broadcast watching on anxiously as Reddick battled for a regular season championship and Wallace looked to keep his playoff hopes alive. Denny Hamlin, who co-owns 23XI alongside Jordan, said on Monday’s “Actions Detrimental” podcast he enjoyed seeing Jordan get into the action as much as he did.

Watching it back it was definitely interesting, and you can tell how nervous and into it he was,” Hamlin said. “It’s fun knowing that someone who’s been in the most pressure packed situations as a professional athlete. I think when I’m watching it and I’m out of races and I’m watching races conclude, I’m watching the 23 and the 45, you do get way more nervous because you can’t control it. I’m not in the car. I can’t make this move or that move or do this or do that. I’m just looking at it from a fan’s perspective. Certainly, you feel a lot more vulnerable when you’re just an owner. You just hope that things kind of work out.”

The Southern 500 ended up being bittersweet for Jordan and co. While Reddick outlasted Kyle Larson by one point to take home the regular season title, Wallace missed out on the playoffs. Still, for a team in only its fourth season in NASCAR Cup Series competition, winning a regular season championship is no small feat.

Tyler Reddick sets record straight about his health during Southern 500

Reddick did just enough to pull it off, finishing P10 at Darlington. Reddick battled through a stomach illness, receiving medication throughout the night.

“Just really thankful that a lot of great people on our team,” Reddick said after the race. “They were feeding me the right stuff in the car to help me manage it best as I could. Just smart people. Able to put the right stuff in my drink to help calm my stomach down. At one point, I was just waiting to puke all over myself. Thankfully they kept that from happening. A whole lot of other gross stuff.

“We were able to avoid a lot of that, which was nice. But it was extremely uncomfortable in the car all night.”
