After trouncing West Virginia 34-12 on the road, through a lengthy weather delay no less, Penn State highlighted its players of the game Sunday night.

Quarterback Drew Allar and wide receiver Harrison Wallace III shared the offensive honors, safety Jaylen Reed earned the defensive nomination and linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson rounded things out on special teams.

Allar and Wallace were worth recipients offensively, having delivered an explosive performance through the air. The junior quarterback threw for 216 yards and three touchdowns on 11-for-17, adding 44 rushing yards on six carries. He crossed the 3,000-passing-yard mark in his career and became the first Penn State quarterback to throw three touchdowns in one quarter since Trace McSorley in 2016

Wallace, with five catches for 117 yards and two touchdowns, went over the century mark for the first time in his career.

Reed made his presence known from the jump. He was playing the new “Lion” position, essentially a nickel cornerback, in Tom Allen’s defense. He recovered a fumble in the first quarter for Penn State’s first turnover of the season, finishing with career-highs of nine tackles and two pass breakups.

Robinson, the redshirt freshman who’d received a lot of offseason buzz, finished with two tackles. He played mostly on special teams.
