NFL INJURY UPDATE: ESPN Provides shocking Injury Update on ‘Classic’ $110 Million Star

Pete Carroll Provides Injury Update on Raiders’ $110 Million Star.

The Las Vegas Raiders were hit with the injury bug last season, especially on their defensive line. That alone does not excuse the campaign they put together, as the team was an overall mess under head coach Antonio Pierce.

However, with Pete Carroll now in charge and general manager John Spytek making personnel decisions, the outlook of the franchise is surprisingly positive. They have kept several of the key pieces from regimes past, but they have also added new blood into the mix in Las Vegas.

While the team will certainly need to become cohesive and develop a new identity, getting healthy is also a pivotal part of the offseason plan.

One of the main players that needs to get healthy is defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, who the team spent $110 million on last offseason. Coach Carroll spoke to the media on Wednesday and provided an update on Wilkins’ progress.

“This has been a difficult recovery,” Carroll said. “He’s not ready to get back out. We’re in the midst of a long, challenging process here. Fortunately, there’s a lot of time.”

Wilkins suffered a broken foot during Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season, and he has not suited up for the Raiders since. He is one of the best players at his position in the league when he is healthy, but unfortunately, he was not last season for the Silver and Black.

Having him return to the lineup will be paramount to the success of the Raiders’ defense. Alongside Maxx Crosby and Malcolm Koonce, this unit should be one of the best in the league if injuries do not continue to get in their way.
