WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) — A man is dead after a wreck in Walterboro late Wednesday night.
According toColleton County Fire-Rescue, a crash was reported around 11:50 p.m. after an SUV failed to navigate a curve on Sidneys Road and struck a tree.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and was later found unconscious in a ditch.
He was treated at the scene, but a medical helicopter could not respond due to poor weather.
The victim was then transported to an area medical center but did not survive his injuries.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
