Kate Garraway unexpectedly misses GMB as ‘suspicious’ Richard Madeley threatens to ring her

The TV presenter, 57, was mysteriously absent, prompting concern among her colleagues.

Kate Garraway was missing from the Good Morning Britain panel on Thursday, prompting her colleagues to try to get in touch with her

The TV presenter, 57, usually fronts the ITV morning show on alternate Thursdays and Fridays and left her co-hosts Richard Madeley, 68, and Susanna Reid, 54, baffled with her disappearance.

Her absence comes amid rumours that she could be appearing on BBC One’s upcoming hit show, Celebrity Traitors, although the cast is yet to be officially confirmed.

She is tipped to be among stars like Stephen Fry, Paloma Faith, and Charlotte Church who could be on the reality series, which has already begun filming in Scotland.

On GMB, singer Melvin Odoom shared his speculations, saying: “None of us have been able to get Kate on the phone to confirm. I don’t know about you guys, but this makes me very suspicious.”

Reid said: “She’ll make an excellent Traitor if we can’t even get hold of her.”

Odoom laughed and suggested they try to contact her live on air, saying: “I think you guys need to send her a message right now.”

Madeley picked up his phone and warned: “I’ll do it right now!”

Reid joked, “She’ll neither confirm nor deny, I’m sure,” as Odoom insisted: “Let’s do it anyway.”

Madeley teased that he was going to ring her, saying: “I’ll do it right now. You carry on, I’ll do it!”

Garraway’s absence comes hours after The Sun released the names of the 19 contestants who will reportedly appear on the show.

Alan Carr, Clare Balding, Jonathan Ross, Paloma Faith, Stephen Fry, Nick Mohammed, Tom Daley, Charlotte Church, Cat Burns, Celia Imrie, Tameka Empson, Joe Marler, David Olusoga, Joe Wilkinson, Mark Bonnar, Lucy Beaumont, Niko Omilana, and Ruth Codd are the other famous faces tipped to be either Faithfuls or Traitors.

At stake is a £120,000 prize pot, and if a Traitor makes it to the final round without being detected, they get to take it all.

It will be the UK’s first celebrity season of the the original Traitors, which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman.
