Richie Wellens wins Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month for January

Leyton Orient Head Coach Richie Wellens has been announced as Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month for the second-consecutive month.

After four wins and a draw in the month, with twelve goals scored and only four conceded, the Gaffer picked up his second managerial award of the campaign, after also winning December’s award.

 

He said: “To win the award in back-to-back months is a great achievement for my staff and our players.

 

“January, and December before that, were products of a lot of hard work that we have put in throughout the whole season. We have got ourselves into a good position in the league and hopefully we can have a strong second half of the season and achieve something special.

 

“As I said last month, although my name goes on the award, it is for my staff, players and also our supporters, who have played a big part in our success.”
