Bulgaria’s highest ranked tennis player Grigor Dimitrov qualified for the semifinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Brisbane, Australia on Friday.

Defending champion Dimitrov was awarded a walkover in the quarterfinals after his opponent Jordan Thompson (Australia) retired from the match in the second set. Thompson was trailing 1:6, 1:2 before forfeiting the match due to an injury.

Thus, the 33-year-old Bulgarian who has already won two titles in Brisbane (2017, 2023) will play Jiri Lehecka (Czechia) for a spot in Sunday’s final. Lehecka defeated Nicolas Jarry from Chile in straight sets – 6:4, 6:4.
