Mercedes-Benz Salesman Sues Texas Dealer Over Race, Age Bias

Mercedes-Benz of San Antonio was hit with a lawsuit by a former sales associate alleging he was subjected to a hostile work environment, bias, and retaliation based on his race and age.

Craig Smoak, who is Black and was born in 1955, alleges his supervisor routinely made racist comments and used derogatory names related to his race, according to the lawsuit filed Dec. 23 in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas.

Smoak says he was subjected to frequent discriminatory comments about his age from his supervisor and other employees.
