Breaking news: 23×1 Michael Jordan has been arrested over an alleged crime

NASCAR legend Kenny Wallace has opened up about his surprising experiences moving from the NASCAR circuit to grassroots dirt racing, exposing an unexpected hostility from local racers at the start of his dirt track journey. Wallace’s journey from NASCAR stardom to local dirt track racing has been anything but ordinary. Following an illustrious NASCAR career that spanned 25 years and saw him compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and various Cup Series teams, Wallace found himself facing a surprising and painful reality. During the ‘Herm & Schrader” show, Wallace recounted: “When you are a NASCAR driver, and you try to go race these guys on a local level, they do not like it.”

Many local racers perceived his presence as an intrusion, fearing disruption to their established dynamics. “When I came back here, they hated me. And it was a shocking blow to me. It hurt me. It really did.” Kenny Wallace’s family background in racing, with brothers Rusty and Mike Wallace being well-known NASCAR figures, played a significant role in his early interest and success. Yet, despite this, stepping into the dirt track community post-NASCAR proved more challenging than expected. In recent times, however, the atmosphere has seen a positive shift. Wallace’s dedication to racing, including independently working on his vehicles, has led to greater acceptance and respect among the dirt racing community. He added

Now, I’m not crying. I’m telling you why I work on my stuff myself. And now, all of a sudden, when I show up at the racetrack by myself, they finally see that I am a racecar driver.” This comes after Wallace also spoke out on former NASCAR and IndyCar driver Danica Patrick’s comments about the difficulties women in motorsport face, referring to the physicality of racing. Wallace said, as previously reported by Newsweek Sports: “Danica Patrick would agree with you. When she pretty much quit racing, she came out with a really controversial [statement] but everybody agreed with her… ‘It’s easier for a man to win in racing because it’s tough. It’s hard.’… There are races that we’ve been young. And we come out of that car like a noodle, a wet noodle.”
