According to AP News, Spire Motorsports president Doug Duchardt is moving to TWG Group to become their Chief Performance Officer of Motorsports. Duchardt’s background makes him a strong addition to TWG, having served in prominent roles at General Motors. TWG, a multifaceted organization involved in various motorsport disciplines, has partnered with GM to launch the Cadillac Formula One team. By 2026, TWG Group plans to be competing in NASCAR through its connection with Spire Motorsports, IndyCar through its handling of former Andretti properties, IMSA via Wayne Taylor Racing, and Formula One with Cadillac

Spire Motorsports itself is undergoing restructuring to accommodate Duchardt’s departure. Bill Anthony, Spire’s Executive Vice President, and Todd Mackin, the current president of Spire Holdings, are poised to take over Duchardt’s responsibilities, ensuring a seamless continuation of operations at the organization.

Despite these changes, Jeff Dickerson will remain with Spire, contributing to the organization’s stability during this transitional phase. Official statements regarding these changes in leadership are expected to come next week.

This also comes after the team announced last week that former RFK Racing crew chief Matt McCall has been named Director of Vehicle Performance and Dax Gerringer has been appointed Technical Director.
