Just In: Dowell Loggains poised to leave Gamecocks for head coaching job, ESPN report says
It looks like Shane Beamer and South Carolina are about to be in the market for a new offensive coordinator. The Gamecocks’ Dowell Loggains is the front-runner to land the vacant Appalachian State head coaching position, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Saturday. Thamel posted this to X/Twitter on Saturday afternoon: “Sources: South Carolina offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains has emerged as the target for the Appalachian State head coaching job. The deal is not finalized, but it is expected to come together in the near future.”
The Watauga Democrat reported Moss Brennan reported that App State’s Board of Trustees was meeting virtually at 5 p.m. Saturday. “I expect an App State football coaching announcement soon after,” Brennan posted to X. Loggains has been the Gamecocks’ offensive coordinator for the 2023 and 2023 seasons.
