Just In: Transfer portal giveth transfer portal taketh away as reserve tight end set to enter transfer portal
Jordan Silversmith is a current Florida State student covering FSU football, baseball and basketball
According to multiple reports, the fourth Florida State Seminole has entered the transfer portal as TE Jackson West will be leaving Tallahassee. The redshirt junior spent four years with the program.
West struggled through injuries throughout his career, missing the 2022 season, before earning FSU’s most-improved offensive player in 2023. The Noles hoped that West could take the next step in his development this season, starting the season as the #2 behind Kyle Morlock, but the freshman took most of his snaps, and he did not record a catch on offense this season. West mostly played on special teams during the 2024 year.
He will have one season of eligibility.
The Seminoles’ tight end room will look different next season, with Morlock and West moving on while Landen Thomas, Amaree Williams, and true freshman Chase Loftin take over.
West made his presence felt around the FSU athletic community as he spent time as a photographer for the Florida State baseball team as part of an internship during their run to Omaha last season.
