INJURY NEWS: Reading FC Suffer Setback After €350,000 Ace & Two Confirmed Ruled Out For 3 Weeks
Reading FC: Injury updates on Andy Yiadom, Jeriel Dorsett and Joel Periera.
Reading FC manager Ruben Selles provided an update regarding the injuries of several first-team players.
Defender Jeriel Dorsett is the latest to be on the treatment table after he had to be forced off with injury during Reading’s defeat away at Bolton the weekend before last.
Dorsett had started every one of Reading’s League One matches this season prior to Saturday’s victory over Huddersfield.
It is expected that he will be out for four to six weeks while he recovers from an ankle injury.
Goalkeeper Joel Pereira, who won his spot as the number keeper at the club towards the end of last season, is expected to be out until after the next international break, also suffering with an ankle injury which he picked up in training.
Selles said: “He (Pereira) is doing really well with his recovery, but I think it will be after the international break, one or two weeks after.”
Meanwhile, club captain Andy Yiadom is still recovering from a long term knee injury which means he will not feature until the New Year.
Selles continued: “He (Yiadom) is far away (from returning).
He has been off the pitch for five or six months. They changed therapy and he is now back in the gym to be strong enough to run and get on the pitch..
“We are talking at least until the end of December or January in the best case.”
The Royals boss confirmed that Kelvin Abrefa was not substituted with injury despite being withdrawn late on in Saturday’s win.
