“I might go to Real Madrid” – Genk’s Arokodare responds to Trabzonspor links
Arokodare has vowed to give his all for the Super Eagles of Nigeria if he ever gets a call-up to the National team.
Nigeria and KRC Genk striker, Toluwalase Emmanuel Arokodare, has responded to reports linking him with a move away from the Belgian club, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 23-year-old has been in fine form this season, scoring four goals in four games for The Smurfs, and has been linked with Turkish Super Lig side, Trabzonspor.
Genk’s head coach, Thorsten Fink, has made it clear the former Amiens SC striker will only leave if there’s a bid which is considered irrefutable by the club’s board.
“Trabzonspor cannot afford him. We will not sell our top striker for small money, are we? Well, I have experience with these kinds of football matters and know how they go, but I have every confidence in our board and in Dimitri de Condé. They decide who comes and goes and do that excellently,” the German coach told Het Belang van Limburg.
Arokodare scored a brace against Beerschot on Saturday and was pumped as he continues to find the back of the net. Speaking after the game, the former FC Köln forward responded to the transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the club.
“I think I might go to Real Madrid. I hear they are still looking for a second striker next to Mbappé. No, just kidding. I have a contract with Genk, and I am focused on this club, not on rumours. Where do I see my future? I am not a clairvoyant. No idea, man,” the Nigerian told Het Laatste Nieuws in quotes revealed by Voetbal Nieuws.
The 1.97m tall striker finally seems to have find his groove for the new season, and with his form, a first call-up to the Nigerian team might be on the cards. He’s vowed to give his all for the Super Eagles if he gets the chance.
