Greg McElroy Unveils 2024 Big Ten Championship Prediction.

Prediction season is soon coming to an end with the beginning of real college football games this weekend, which meant ESPN’s Greg McElroy had to get his pick for the Big Ten out on his YouTube show, “Always College Football.”

McElroy noted that three Big Ten teams stand as primary contenders for the conference crown in 2024: Ohio State, Penn State and Oregon. However, McElroy just couldn’t get there with the Nittany Lions and believes OSU will take care of them in the regular season to meet up with Oregon in the title game.

“Oregon and Ohio State will play in a rematch,” McElroy predicts. “I think both teams are going to be 11-1, 8-1 in the conference. Ultimately, they’re at the neutral site in a dome.”

He believes Oregon could nab the Buckeyes in Eugene during the regular season, but come the postseason, he expects Ohio State to flip the script.

“I’m taking the Ohio State Buckeyes to beat the Oregon Ducks in the Big 10 title game and punch their ticket to the playoff,” McElroy added. “Which means Oregon and Penn State — still well-positioned to be in as at large — but they’ll be sitting there awaiting their fate on selection day that Sunday after the conference title games.”

So, Ohio State goes through as the Big Ten auto bid, according to McElroy. Then, Oregon fairly, certainly makes it in as an at-large, while Penn State, as they have before, will wait on pins and needles to see if they’ve made the cut.
